Timed Akagram: A Time Attack Challenge
Start a Timed Akagram run with 180 seconds on a 6×6 board. Complete every bulb and empty mark, light the grid and satisfy all clues before the clock reaches zero. Each solved board adds bonus time to what remains; placing a few correct bulbs does not refill the clock.
How Timed Akagram Works
One Timed Akagram run uses a single clock across many boards. Unused time carries forward, a solved board adds bonus seconds, and the next puzzle loads automatically. Your result is completed boards by size. There is no leaderboard.
Place bulbs to light every open cell, keep bulbs out of each other’s sight, and match every row, column and numbered-wall clue. Read the Akagram rules.
Tap an open cell to cycle through bulb, excluded and undecided. For Check and Hint, see the controls and hints.
Start With 180 Seconds
Start Game begins a 180-second countdown on a 6×6 board. At zero the run ends; start again on 6×6. The clock pauses only during the brief completion screen and while the next board loads.
Earn Bonus Time
A fully solved board adds its size-based bonus to the remaining time. You do not get a fresh 180 seconds after every solve. Finish a 6×6 with 70 seconds remaining and the +45s bonus leaves 115 seconds for the next board. An unfinished board earns nothing.
Keep Solving New Boards
The next board loads automatically. After the opening 6×6, each supported size with unused puzzles has an equal chance. Boards do not repeat within a run.
Bonus Time by Board Size
Larger boards add more time when you finish them. The bonus is added to the time you still have. An unfinished board adds nothing.
| Board size | Time added after solving |
|---|---|
| 6×6 | +45 seconds |
| 8×8 | +90 seconds |
| 10×10 | +150 seconds |
Practice any of the three sizes in Akagram Unlimited.
Manage Your Time Attack Run
Each run starts on 6×6. After that, any of the three timed sizes can appear, regardless of how little time is left. The 45, 90 or 150 second reward depends on the board size and arrives only after a complete solve. Treat the displayed clock as your remaining budget for this board, rather than counting on the next bonus before you have earned it. Practicing those deductions in Unlimited is more useful than rushing a guess.
Undo, Reset and Hint do not pause the countdown. A hint can apply a forced move, but waiting for its cooldown still uses time. Switching tabs or refreshing also does not create a fresh clock. The board finishes automatically when every open cell is lit, all clues match and no bulbs shine on each other. Empty marks are optional. Study those deductions without a clock on Akagram strategy.
Questions About the Timed Run
Does the daily set use this countdown?
No. The daily set and Unlimited record how long you play. Only this page starts at 180 seconds and adds bonus time when a board is solved.
How are random boards selected?
The first board is always 6×6. After that, 6×6, 8×8 and 10×10 each have an equal chance while they have unused puzzles. Boards never repeat within a challenge. The next size does not depend on the time remaining.
When do I receive the bonus seconds?
Only when the entire board is solved correctly before time runs out. Partial boards earn no bonus. The bonus is added once, and unused time carries into the next board.
What happens if I refresh or switch tabs?
The countdown keeps running if you switch tabs, refresh, or close the page. It pauses only during the short completion screen and while the next board loads. This browser restores the saved board when storage is available; press Start Game to continue. There is no account sync.
Can I skip a board or use the game controls?
You cannot skip boards during a challenge. Undo, reset and hints remain available; using them does not pause or refill the countdown. A hint retains the usual five-second cooldown.
Is Timed Akagram free?
Yes. Timed Akagram is free to play in your browser, with no account or subscription required.
